Uniform Requirements - Primary


Uniform Regulations: [All items MUST be named with the OWNER’S name]

SUMMER UNIFORM 

Compulsory : Beginning of the Summer Term to November 30.

Dress:  Blue with white collar. Required for formal occasions. Available from School Shop (must be worn for the annual Torch Ceremony in April).

Socks: White ankle socks – no sports socks please

Hat:  Any style, colour or pattern. This is compulsory all year round and no student is allowed to play in the sun without it.

Skort & Polo: Navy Skort that has no front pleats with a white polo with the school logo. 

WINTER UNIFORM

Compulsory: From December 1 to the end of the Spring term

Tunic:   Navy blue with BHS school logo. Available from School Shop

Blouse White, round peter pan collar, long or short sleeve. Available from School Shop

Socks: Navy blue knee length. Available from School Shop

Fleece:  Navy blue fleece with BHS school logo. (May be worn with the summer uniform in cooler weather). Available from school shop

THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONS TO THE WINTER UNIFORM ARE PERMITTED IN COOLER WEATHER ONLY.

Plain navy or black leggings worn with socks under the tunic

Plain navy or black tights worn with socks under the tunic – Years 3 to 6 ONLY.

Colourful sweaters and jackets worn by pillion passengers on bikes must remain in the cubbies/cloakroom during school time.

 

  1. OPTIONAL UNIFORM ITEMS

Polo shirt:     Short sleeved, white cotton kit with the BHS school crest. Available from School Shop. May be worn in lieu of summer & winter dress.

Skort:             Navy blue. Other styles e.g. with pleats are not uniform.

This uniform can be worn all year round but not during school photo day in September or the Torch Ceremony in April. Year 6 only, is exempt from this.

 

  1. PE UNIFORM (We suggest bringing it in on Monday and home on Friday)

 

Shirt:  House colour t-shirt with BHS school crest. Available from School Shop. Must be worn for Sports Day

BHS Team PE shirts are also available and MUST be worn by students representing BHS in a Team Events.

Shorts:           Navy blue shorts with BHS school crest. Available from School Shop.

Track suit:      Available through the School Shop. Can be worn for PE in the cooler months. May be worn by students representing BHS in team events. Other styles may not be worn.

Sneakers:     Sturdy sneakers

PE Bag:           PE kit must be kept in a named bag. A sturdy bag with a name label is available from the School Shop.

 

  1. OTHER GENERAL UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

 

Art smock     A large shirt is ideal for protection from art materials

Raincoat         Any colour raincoat. ALL students should have a raincoat in school at ALL times.

Sunhat           Compulsory all year around. Any colour or style. Only BHS sun hats may be worn during the Torch Ceremony in April.

Indoor shoes           light weight (canvas) shoes that can be worn indoors in lieu of shoes on muddy days. Bedroom slippers and flip flop style shoes are NOT acceptable. ‘Crocs’ may be worn

Hair                 Long hair MUST be worn off the face in ponytail or braids. Ribbons, hair bands, barettes should be white, brown, blue and/or gold and be conservative in style

Jewelry         A wrist watch, medic alert bracelets and small, plain (gold or silver only) stud earrings may be worn. Please note, the school does not accept responsibility for the loss of jewelry, or for any injury related to the wearing of jewelry

Orders can be delivered direct to your daughter or for pick up at Reception. Next day delivery, 48 hour returns, credit card payments and customer service.

The shop is also open in term time Tuesdays from 12.00-1.15pm.

LASTLY: EVERYTHING MUST BE NAMED IDEALLY WITH IRON ON LABELS AT THE NECK OR WAIST BAND SO YOUR CHILD CAN IDENTIFY HER ITEMS. MARKER PEN ON THE CLOTHING LABEL IS NO SUBSTITUTE AS THE LABELS ARE OFTEN OUT OF SIGHT.

 

Note

  1. On regular school days, Brownie and guide uniforms may be worn to school on the day of the meeting.
  2. The annual Torch Ceremony takes place at the end of April. Summer uniform is compulsory for that occasion. Year 6 students, only, may wear the skort option on that day.
